    • http://www.doyogawithme.com/. This fantastic pose encourages the upper back into extension and gives a great stretch to the chest and the fronts of the shoulders. Many of us sit slouched in front of the computer for hours on a daily basis and I can't imagine anything better to counteract this habitual posture.
    • Reclining Hand to Toe Sequence (Supta Padangusthasana)

    • This is one of my favorite pose sequences. In Sanskrit supra means lying down and padangustha is big toe. This is a series of poses that stretch the legs at different angles and include stretches for the hamstrings, piriformis, calves and groin muscles.   • I was dx with stage 4 breast cancer 2 yrs ago, while I have been stable for some time now, I have had problems with the side effects of the medications. I am not able to practice "normal" or even "gentle" yoga but have found restorative to be a god sent life line. It has helped with stress & anxiety, the pain & stiffness, sleep, a wonderful way to have some quiet and calm in my life, slowing down the thoughts whirling around in my head.

  • I did a lot of restorative yoga last summer when I was under a lot of stress, ironically also from teaching yoga. I had a lot of problems with my digestion as well as my nerves and only the gentle moves and holds helped. Amazingly enough.
    I also have done restorative at the onset of a cold, or even during one. Especially supported backbends are beneficial to opening the heart/chest area and loosen up congestion!

  • I love restoratives. I find that even if I don't get enough sleep, a restorative session really rejuvinates me throughout my day more than a cup of coffee.

  • I find restorative yoga so reliefing even I have no health problems at all. It's so comfortable to rest in the postures, helped by a set of bolsters, blankets, bricks, belts. And it's a great way to start opening your body when you want to advance in certain specific postures.
