"Ha" refers to the sun and "tha" refers to the moon.  This style combines yin and yang elements to create a well balanced practice.  Introduced by Yogi Swatmarama in the 15th century, Hatha Yoga began as preparatory stage of physical purification that the body practices for higher meditation.

    • Lying Chest Opener

    • http://www.doyogawithme.com/. This fantastic pose encourages the upper back into extension and gives a great stretch to the chest and the fronts of the shoulders. Many of us sit slouched in front of the computer for hours on a daily basis and I can't imagine anything better to counteract this habitual posture.
    • Reclining Hand to Toe Sequence (Supta Padangusthasana)

    • This is one of my favorite pose sequences. In Sanskrit supra means lying down and padangustha is big toe. This is a series of poses that stretch the legs at different angles and include stretches for the hamstrings, piriformis, calves and groin muscles. Do your best to keep your pelvis stable (keep it from tilting while you move from one pose to the other). If you would like to see more videos like this one, visit http://www.doyogawithme.com/. It's free!
    • Bound Half Lord of the Fishes (Baddha Ardha Matsyendrasana)

    • This is one of my favorite poses, because of the variety of ways in which it stretches the body. There are few poses that give my shoulders such a deep, satisfying stretch. Add the stretch to the hips and the deep twist and this pose is pure bliss! Baddha means bound; ardha is half, matsya is fish and indra is ruler. Ensure that your pelvis acts as an anchor so that your spine can lift and lengthen to its fullest capacity. Breathe deeply and avoid stiffening the body.

    • I asked her if I could photograph her bald head.  She loves me so much she let me.  I told her I had an image in my head.....she doesn't understand why I do what I do but she accepts it.  Sometimes I just need to get the image in my head even if it takes a 1000 photos.

  • can anyone help me out please?

My friend is of age 21 now is having a abnormal elbow for right hand.

she can't open the elbow completely to a normal level.

Is it possible to make it straight by anymeans by Yoga or Surgery.

She is with complete good health.

That bone is also small in size when you compare it with left hand.

  • Best of luck to you niecy. The most importatnt thing that I found with Hatha yoga is consistency and that requires discipline. Stick with it you will not regret it.

  • I am trying to get back into a hatha yoga routine, but I must admit, after going without it for a while, it is beyond difficult to get started again. Wish me luck! I know I can do it because I ahve done it before.
