DON'T MISS THIS BOOK!
Hi, everyone. You may have noticed that I haven't been around much the last few weeks. (Well, I hope somebody noticed!)
That's because I've been editing a must-read new book just released by Deborah Bernstein (Florian Yoga), a YJ Community member.
YJ Community members Suzann Bain and Amy Nobles Dolan are also represented here, and I'm sure there are other members whom I don't know about yet. (Please tell me who you are!)
Just click here or on the title below to see the book, the Table of Contents, and some samples:
Here's what the back cover says:
AN INVITATION FROM THE EDITORS:
Prepare to be enthralled and to be moved. Get ready to laugh and to cry. This is the story of Yoga in America, as told by 46 devoted teachers from every part of the Yoga spectrum.
Who could resist titles like these from the Table of Contents:
"Skip the Middle Man and Go Directly to Bliss!"
"Hot Yoga in America--Roots and Offshoots"
"How Patanjali Comes Alive in My Classes and My Life"
"Firm Buttocks or Self-Realization?"
How about the heartbreaking story of a disillusioned woman who spent years seeking happiness in ashrams in India and from gurus in America?
How about an uproarious guide for hesitant men thinking of trying Yoga?
How about the keys to joyous living from one of the leaders of Ananda Yoga in the U.S.?
Open up anywhere and you will find a wealth of energy, creativity, and profound insight. We're sure you'll enjoy meeting these wonderful human beings as much as we enjoyed bringing them together in this book.
(A portion of the procedes from this book supports the families of fallen firefighters.)
(Normally it's a no-no to promote a product here. I hope you'll agree this is an exception because I have absolutely no financial interest in this book and I'm writing on behalf of the authors of the book, including YJ members.)

florianyoga, 3 years ago | FlagAhh, indeed thank you to the YJ community for the beautiful chapters you contributed to the book.
And, Bob....my goodness is he a magnificent editor! He made pieces in this book that were powerful to begin with, even more so with subtle changes that awed me throughout the editing process.
I'm fortunate to have "met" Bob and to have had the opportunity to team up with him on this endeavor.
This YJ community has been supportiveand warm and I'm happy to be a part of it and to have met Suzann, Amy and hopefully more whom I'll get to know in the future. -
amy@yogawithspirit.com, 3 years ago | FlagI am so grateful to this site and the relationships it fostered because my essay would not be included in this book had I not joined the YJ community! I'm honored to be a part of both the community of teachers in the book and this rich, yoga-lovin g community! -
suzann, 3 years ago | FlagI actually did wonder where you were, Bob, because I didn't know you were editing the book! I hope other YJ members who contributed to the book will reveal themselves . This site is responsibl e for bringing this amazing opportunit y into my life and I hope others will be inspired to contact each other and share some beautiful collaborat ions as well! We might need to start a new group called "Yoga Collaborat ions" for people to showcase creative works they've worked on with other group members. :)
